old quilt, new quilt

Lets start with the OLD quilt.
In the picture below you will see Reid's FAVORITE blanket.  It is the first quilt I ever made.  I made it at my cousins house when I was maybe 12 years old {can't really remember exactly how old I was.  Sylvie, if you are reading this, do you remember??}  Anyways, it is kind of ugly and old, but Reid loves it.  See all of those pieces of yarn hanging off of it?  Well he holds them in his hand, pulls it to his face, and sucks his thumb, then he is out like a light.
Yes he is fast asleep with his face buried in his blanket.
I flipped him on his side so he could breathe.   What a cutie pie.  I don't know if you can tell, but he has a hand full of blanket in his sucking hand.   He still has a bit of a black eye :(
Reid doesn't really cuddle, but if you wrap him in this blanket he will cuddle forever.  I love it.  I think I need to make him a new one with fresh yarn.

That brings me to my NEW quilt.
I am in the process of making a quilt for Aaron.  This has been on my wish list for about 2 years now, and I am finally doing it.  Aaron picked all the fabric, and designed the pattern.  I am SO excited because I think it is going to look AWESOME.  I am a little worried because it will be, by far, the most difficult thing I have ever made.  The fabric is just a total mismatch of anything that has blues in it.  At first I was nervous because some of them don't really go together, but when it is all put together it looks wicked.  Who says fabric has to match to make something look good????
Done all the cutting.  204 pieces to be exact,  It is going to look similar to stacked stone when it is done.
Wish me luck, I might need it.  I am hoping to finish it up quickly, because right now it is spread out all over the floor.  With three boys running around it won't stay all nice and organized for very long.

Where did Reid's blonde hair go?? The new quilt will look wonderful but will not have the snuggle factor of the old worn out quilt. Mom
