A friend of mine just had a baby girl, so I decided to make a cute baby blanket. I found this blanket tutorial on Pinterest {love it}. It was super easy to make, and I love how it turned out.
All you need is a cute cotton print for the front, and 3 coordinating flannels for the back. Sew a billion straight line stitches 1/2 inch apart {this it time consuming}. Then cut down the middle of all the channels, through all three layers of flannel {this was painful for my hand. I finished with a few blisters}. There is a nifty tool to make all that cutting easier, but I don't have one.
Then bind it with the binding of your choice. I used satin.
Reid kept trying to get in all my pictures, so I figured I would add one of him.

Now here comes the best part. Throw it in the wash, and see it transform.
I LOVE IT
I might make a bigger one for myself, when my cutting hand recovers that is. It is so cozy and soft, perfect for fall.
If you want a better tutorial {mine is VERY basic} Go HERE.
HAPPY SEWING :)
