Aaron turned 29 today
We didn't do too much. He got home early, we went to Dahl's baseball practice, got home and ate dinner, then dug into a yummy black forest cake. Black forest is Aaron's favorite and I have never attempted to make it before. I got the recipe from his aunt Diane (thank you Diane). She always makes everything so delicious, so I knew it would be good.
It tasted great, but I need to work on my cake decorating skills. The edges look awful. I thought I had some chocolate to shave for the sides, to hide all the imperfections, but I didn't. Oh well, no big deal.
(I have much more respect for cake decorators. It's tricky)
29 candles was too many, so Dahl and Ty each put one on.

Thanks again Diane, it was wonderful (Dahl ate his and Ty's. He usually never eats desserts)
To celebrate, Aaron and I are going out for dinner and a movie tomorrow night. First date since Reid was born. Can't wait.

Fun...a TWO DAY birthday party!! Diane really does do up a cake wonderfully doesn't she? And honestly....I thought that cake was FABULOUS looking yourself Stacey!! It's a "forest" cake...it's supposed to look a little rough around the edges....

Whatever Stacey I think the cake looks awesome! I've never made anything but a cake from a box. Ha ha ha. It's weird to think that me and Aaron are the same age. I feel like he's so much older than me. Maybe because you guys already have three kids. :) Happy Birthday Aaron!

Oh Stacey, I thought I stumbled onto a professional food blog. YUMMY. I'm glad it worked. I made that chocolate cake for Sam (Erin's fiancee) and overbaked it. It was dry and I was embarrassed. He of course said it was delicious. What else is he going to say to his new mother-in-law? Happy Birthday Aaron!
