Automatic Door

Ty closed his thumb in the automatic sliding door of the van today.  I was on the other side of the van unloading groceries when it happened.  All of the sudden I heard him screaming, and I new exactly what had happened.  As quickly as I could, I threw down all the grocery bags and ran around to the other side of the van.  He was standing there, door closed, thumb all the way in....so sad.  It was probably stuck in there for a good 10 seconds.  When I finally got the door opened he just crumbled into my arms screaming.  Luckily Reid and Dahl both had doctor check ups within the hour, so I was able to take him in as well.  She sent us for x-rays.  We just found out everything looks fine.  No broken bones.  Just badly bruised, swollen and sore.  I think Ty cried more today than he ever has before.
Sad day for him.
OUCH....ya his thumb was ALL the way in the door, up past the second knuckle.

Oh, look at his poor swollen hand. What a tough kid. You know I'm no stranger to slamming fingers in doors, window, etc.
