School is worth it

I have finally got Dahl enrolled in Preschool starting in September. He couldn't be more excited. He has been asking me to go to school for the last 8 months, almost every day. But in order for him to go to school he had to go to the doctors for a physical, and to made sure all of his immunizations were up to date. So we get to the doctors and they check his weight, height, eye sight (he thought this was cool because it was a real eye chart and he got to cover his eye with the black spoon thing), temperature, hearing and blood pressure. Healthy, healthy, healthy. Then came time for two shots...Polio and Tetanus, OUCH. I always thought it was sad to take babies to get their shots, but it is WAY worse to take a 4 year old who fully understands what they are about to do. I had to keep telling him that if he wants to go to school he needs to get all of his shots to make him healthy. So he sat bravely on my lap and the nurse gave him the first shot, oh boy.......Dahl starting screaming. I felt so bad because she still had to give him another shot in the other arm. And the second one was the Tetanus shot which hurts the worst. When it was all over the nurse gave him some stickers as he was still sobbing. The saddest of all was when we were walking to the car Dahl says, "Mom, I don't want to go to school anymore." SO SAD, because I KNOW how bad he wanted to go to school. So I had to reassure him that all the shots are over and that he won't need anymore (at least for awhile). He is now back on board to go to school!!!

Poor Dahl!! I just had to take Aubrey for her 18 months shots yesterday and she totally remembered what was going to happen to her, it's sad. Will goes to Pre-School next year and he has to do the same thing, not looking forward to it....

That's so sad. I almost teared up. He is so cute though. I can't believe he's already getting ready to go to school.
