New Pet

So we went to the pet store a couple of days ago to buy Dahl a fish. The guy working there tryed to sell us a 10 gallon tank with a filtration system for a GOLD FISH.......are you kidding me. He said that gold fish aren't ment to live in a bowl. So I asked him why is there a picture of a gold fish on the box the bowl came in???? What an idiot. Who would buy anything but a bowl for a 90 cent fish. He said that Gold Fish will only live up to 6 months in a bowl. Good, we don't want it to live longer than 6 months. Lets hope we didn't get fish that live forever like Dave's . So we got the bowl, and 2 fish. Dahl went nuts.....he loves them so much. Here are a couple pictures!

Ok, I don't know what I do but I can't get my fish to live longer then a couple of weeks. It's the best kind of pet though, kids like them, it doesn't make a mess, and by the time your kids get tired of it, it dies. I need to get some tips though I feel bad when they die so quickly.

good luck

He looks cute Stacey. You look like you are losing some weight with your walking etc. good work. don't kill the little fish - you may be held accountable

I bought the $.99 cent fish 2 years ago and the stupid thing won't keel over. I was looking at him this morning and was shocked that he is still hanging in there. I got eye level with the bowl and realized that there was only enough water in the bowl to cover his dorsal fin. I think he has deserved a water change and fresh tank. At some point if they have been that loyal to you it is time to sack up and buy a nice filtered tank for them to swim in. But who knows, a day later it might die because the water was too clean!

Maybe thats my problem, I'm trying to keep the water to clean, because it seems to me that they always die after I change the water. I don't get it?
